At our club meeting this evening, two long-serving stalwarts of the club received engraved glass tankards and the grateful thanks of everyone present in recognition of their outstanding contributions of voluntary service to the club. Phil Alford and Simon Walker both put away their tactics boards, bibs and cones for the last time at the conclusion of their under-18 season earlier this year. Simon dedicated 14 years to coaching his boys’ team, with Phil not far behind notching up 10 years on the sideline with his team of girls, in addition to a stint as club chairman. The experience and dedication of both men will be sorely missed around the club and we would like to wish them both well for the future.
