Completing the Double in the West Riding Girls Football League U16 Plate Final
Having already secured the league title, the Girls U16s had the opportunity to complete the double in the West Riding Girls Football League U16 Plate Final against Ryburn United Women U16.
The final delivered everything you could want from a cup final.
Norristhorpe found themselves 1-0 down early on, but showed tremendous character to respond brilliantly and turn the game around, racing into a 3-1 lead.
Just when it looked as though the game was under control, Ryburn battled back strongly to level the score at 3-3, sending the match to penalties.
It was a true test of nerve and resilience.
Penalty Shootout Glory
The shootout was packed with tension.
Ryburn stepped up first, but Emily produced a brilliant save to give Norristhorpe the early advantage in the shootout.
From that point onwards, every penalty was calmly converted.
With the pressure at its highest, captain Macy stepped forward for the decisive spot-kick.
Showing composure beyond her years, she buried the penalty to secure a 5-4 shootout victory, completing the double and sparking incredible celebrations from players, coaches and supporters.
It was a fitting moment for the captain to seal such a historic achievement.
