Last weekend, Norristhorpe Junior FC was proud to host the second Huddersfield Junior Football League 3v3 Festival at our home, Warrenside Sports Complex.
Working closely alongside the Huddersfield Junior Football League committee, the festival brought together clubs, players, coaches and families from across the league to experience the exciting new 3v3 football format that will become the official format for Under 7 football next season.
The day was filled with smiles, goals and plenty of football, providing the perfect opportunity for everyone to experience what grassroots football’s newest format has to offer.
Preparing Players for the Future
The introduction of 3v3 football represents an exciting step forward for the youngest players in the game.
Designed by England Football’s FutureFit programme, the format encourages:
- More touches of the ball
- More involvement for every player
- More opportunities to make decisions
- More goals
- More enjoyment
The festival allowed young players to experience these benefits first-hand before the new season begins, while giving coaches and parents a valuable insight into how the format will help players develop both technically and socially.
A Fantastic Partnership with the Huddersfield Junior Football League
Hosting events like these is only possible through strong partnerships.
Everyone at Norristhorpe Junior FC would like to thank the Huddersfield Junior Football League committee for their hard work in organising another fantastic festival.
It has been a pleasure working together to deliver these events, and we hope to continue building this relationship for many years to come as we support the development of grassroots football across the region.
By working together, clubs and leagues can provide the very best experiences for young players entering the game.
Our U7s Are Ready for the New Season
While the festival gave clubs from across the league the chance to experience the new format, it was especially exciting to see our own Norristhorpe Junior FC Under 7s enjoying every minute.
The squad embraced the fast-paced 3v3 games, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork and confidence throughout the day. With plenty of touches on the ball, lots of goals and constant involvement, the players had a fantastic experience and are already looking forward to the new season.
The festival has been a brilliant way to introduce our young players, coaches and parents to the exciting changes coming to Under 7 football, and we’re excited to see the team continue their development when the season gets underway.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
A huge thank you goes to our Club Treasurer, Vicky Senior, along with the members of the Norristhorpe Junior FC family who volunteered their time throughout the day.
From preparing the facilities to welcoming clubs and ensuring everything ran smoothly, your hard work helped make the festival a fantastic success.
Events like these simply wouldn’t happen without dedicated volunteers.
