Celebrating Dedication, Teamwork, and Growth
This past weekend marked a bittersweet milestone for Norristhorpe Junior FC as our U16 Girls played their final match together – and what a way to finish! The team secured a 3-0 win over Guiseley, ending the season on a high and celebrating the culmination of years of hard work, commitment, and shared experiences.
This final match wasn’t just about the scoreline – it symbolised the end of a fantastic journey for a group of players who have grown up together on and off the pitch. Completing the season is a massive achievement in itself, especially with many of the squad balancing football alongside the demanding run-up to their GCSE exams. Their dedication, perseverance, and teamwork have been nothing short of inspiring.
Coach Dale Hanson has been instrumental in their development over the years. His support, encouragement, and commitment to the team have made a lasting impact, and he continues to be an invaluable part of the Norristhorpe Junior FC family. We are proud of everything this team has accomplished and incredibly grateful for Dale’s continued dedication to the club.
As we celebrate the accomplishments of this talented group, we also look forward to welcoming the next generation of girls into the game. If you’re a girl who wants to start your football journey – whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to join a team – we’d love to hear from you.
Our Wildcats program, based at Liversedge Cricket Club, is a perfect entry point for girls aged 5–11. It’s designed to be fun, inclusive, and supportive, helping girls build confidence, develop skills, and most importantly – enjoy the game.
Get in touch with us if you’re interested in joining a team or simply want to find out more. Norristhorpe Junior FC is always ready to welcome new players into our growing football community.
To our U16 Girls – thank you for your commitment, passion, and the memories. You’ve set the standard and inspired future generations of players. We couldn’t be prouder.
